I briefly touched upon the idea of trust, and trusting God in my previous posts. I talked about a sign my mom used to have that said "Let Go, Let God."
How many times, in the past, have I prayed to God over some concern that I had, asking him to intervene or direct me. I would always pray, "not my will, but thine, Father." My mom taught me that. Jesus prayed something similar. His prayer was to the effect of "Father, let this cup pass from me, yet not as I will but as Thou will." Matt 26:39 So, the savior, our intercessor to God, understands. Still, given that information, how many times have I prayed and thought that my prayer went unanswered, only to realize years later that my prayers were in fact, answered. Some folks might even say that no answer is still an answer.
Faith is another word that, to me, goes along with trust. Even though I envy Enoch, with whom God walked, I wonder what God thinks of someone who did not walk with God as Enoch or knew Jesus Christ personally, someone who keeps his faith in God through all of his life. Yes, I would have liked to have met Jesus in person. I would have purely enjoyed walking and talking to God, daily. But what is faith if it is not the belief and conviction of things not seen?
If you had a situation where God has undeniably answered your prayers, please post this information in the comments.
In the meantime, through faith, walk with God, talk with God, and give thanks to him for our intercessor and savior, Jesus Christ.

Welcome
Welcome to my blog, "In A Time Like No Other." The name refers to Matthew Chapter 24, Verse 21 from the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Some posts will be about current issues. Others will be about a particular verse or passage I have read and am commenting on. Still yet, some posts will take a different approach (seemingly) and will cover urban gardening, survival, strange phenomenon, and other subjects.
I have chosen this name for the blog because I truly believe that we are living in a time where we will see and experience things never before seen or experienced as well as will not be seen or experienced again in the future. Tribulations will likely be upon us before many of us will realize what is happening.
If you are reading this and you are non-believer, there is still time for you. Ask Jesus to come into your life. Confess your sins and repent. In the words of Jesus Christ, "Go and sin no more." (John 8:11) Seek out a church with a Pastor to arrange for baptism. The time for waiting is over.
Care to comment? Please do. I believe in freedom of speech. If you need prayer. Ask. I believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ, the cleansing power of His blood, and the ultimate majesty and sovereignty of Father God, Yahweh.

Psalms 16 continued: Let Go, Let God
On the previous entry, I blogged briefly about trust.
Way back, almost 30 years ago, I remember a sign on a wall in a supply issue room in the Army. It read: "We trust in God, all others must sign on the dotted line." Funny how some things just always seem to stay with you.
Another sign that I used to see more than 30 years ago said, "Let Go, Let God."
Simple enough. Yet a powerful statement. This one was on my mom's refrigerator.
In Genesis Chapter 5: 21-24, we learn that Enoch lived 365 years beyond the birth of his son, Methuselah. He was 65 at the time of Methuselah's birth. We also note that he "walked with God."
I have often found myself a little envious of Enoch. After all, what could it have been like to walk with God?
Another word closely associated with trust is Faith. I used to pray to God as a young man and then wonder why didn't He answer my prayers. Actually, He did. It just took me a few years to realize just how.
So, the NKJV Psalms 16:1 reads, "Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust." Another version, the NAS provides a slightly different take on the message, reading: "Preserve me, O God, for I take refuge in Thee." Now, between the two interpretations, I draw the inference that to trust could be to also to have a place (or someone) with whom to seek refuge. I trust you enough, that I know I can count on you to give me refuge and that I will be preserved.
When we were children and we cut our finger, to whom did we place our trust or seek refuge from the pain in order to clean the wound and start the healing process? Our parents? Then why not seek God for refuge and trust in the creator of all things?
Let me leave you with this. Trust in God, Trust in Jesus. What other refuge offers more?

PSALM 16
Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. Psalm16 vs1
This is where my thoughts are today. In God I trust.
Trust.
Now there is an interesting word. Trust. Easily gained, but once lost, extremely hard to retrieve.
Trust in God.
Can you really go wrong?
Pray about it. Comment if you like.
Until next time...
